So, a random dream turned into a reality – becoming a PADI-certified scuba diver – and it all happened in less than three weeks. Through my new friends at Al Mahara Dive Center, I conducted an e-learning session, 4 pool dives and 4 open-water ocean dives to have the ability to dive up to 60 feet below water on my own (but with a dive buddy of course).<\/p>\n

The best part? It all happened in the height of winter…<\/p>\n

In the ocean, we saw all sorts of smaller fish – including a few “Nemos” tucked away in coral – and a barracuda. On day two, a few fellow divers got to see a manta ray. Unfortunately, I wasn’t in the right area to see it, but there’s always next time!<\/p>\n
