In my birthday card from Megan, the last line was quite cryptic: be home from work by 6:30pm on Thursday. When I arrived home (with 15 minutes to spare), she wisked me off to the airport for a surprise weekend getaway to Muscat, Oman (because she scored a great deal, of course)!<\/p>\n

Those who know us, know that when Megan and I travel, we rarely stay at the hotel the whole time. Instead, we are always on the go and try to experience as much of a location as possible. However, when we arrived at the Shangri-La Barr Al Jissah Resort, plans for exploration went out the window! The hotel is situated along the Sea of Oman and surrounded by mountains – it was just gorgeous! Inside, there were numerous pools, a lazy river, and waitstaff tripping over themselves to get you your next drink. So we took it all in and just relaxed….one of the best weekends we’ve had in quite some time. Best.Wife.Ever!!!<\/p>\n
