Normally, you’re not especially excited to get up before 6 a.m. But, when you know the temperature is steadily rising, and you’ll be able to see one of the wonders of the world with very little tourists around, you get motivated. <\/p>\n

That’s what we did to see Petra, and have no regrets. We were the very first people in the place, with our guide Ali, and the first to trek across the distance of the public area and climb the 850+ steps to the very end, up at the Monastery. We stopped along the way at all the major sites, including the Treasury, infamous from Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade.<\/p>\n

After walking up, down and around for more than 6 miles in 4 1\/2 hours, we were beat and ready to sit on the car ride back to the airport. But, a wonderful place to experience!<\/p>\n
