While on a quick post-Christmas trip in Luray, we went on a couple walks in the woods on some kid-friendly trails within George Washington National Forest. It was a nice change of pace!
It was a very lazy day that started at 7am with gifts from Santa and ended with the requisite Zoom gathering of the day. It was very low key, but as an added bonus, we spent the day in our pajamas!
It was a quiet Christmas Eve, just the four of us. But thanks to Zoom, some presents and some excellent take out, we managed to enjoy the day!
Colin turned 8 and enjoyed a great birthday weekend, despite COVID-19! He ticked off his amended must-do list, including spending time with friends and cousins, chocolate chip pancakes for breakfast, having a picnic and scootering outside. All in all, it was a fabulous birthday celebration!
In a matter of two weeks, the Tucker household celebrated two birthdays still in quarantine due to coronavirus. The second one had a similar outcome – good food and sweets galore! All in all, the kids made out like bandits with all the treats in the house, making one wonder whose birthday it exactly was.
In the seven years we’ve been able to make it, 2020 marked the second year the Fiesta 5K race, benefitting the JHU Robert Packard Center for ALS Research, was held virtually. After a trip up north and some quality time at home, we celebrated a third and final Christmas with the Tucker side of the family!
For the first time in a very long while, we were at our own home for Christmas, and it was glorious! We had the turkey dinner we missed on Thanksgiving while in Finland, the kids all played nicely, and Santa made it a special day!
This year, we started the Christmas festivities in CT – complete with great family, yummy food, rambunctious kids and good, ol’ gag gifts. It was a whirlwind weekend that, as a bonus, ended with some Star Wars and Frozen 2!
