Once again, Christmas was the right amount of fun, magic and chaos!
A Happy Christmas Eve
This Christmas Eve had a little less Zoom and a little more family, but it was still relatively low-key given omicron. You wouldn’t know it by all the noise that four boys can make it one house though!
An Enchanted Evening
It had been a few months since we visited Nationals Park and boy did it look different! Nats Park was nearly unrecognizable as it transformed for Enchant, a holiday-themed evening festival with lights, ice skating and – of course – plenty of opportunities to spend money!
Happy Christmas!
Hope everyone has an amazing holiday!
Tapping into Art
We hit the Vincent Van Gogh immersive art experience over the holidays and learned a lot about the famous Dutch artist. While there weren’t any original works of art on display, we got to enjoy all the shapes and colors in larger-than-life displays and a virtual reality journey. Eight thumbs up!
Firepits, S’mores Cake and Mulled Wine
Winery visits have become a new pandemic outdoor activity when the temperature drops, and Bluemont doesn’t disappoint! We enjoyed the fire pit, though with all the sun, it wasn’t as cold as we thought. And the views were top notch.
Embracing Winter Fun
We were looking for some wintry holiday fun to make up for no Zoolights this year, and we found it in Georgetown! We braved the ice rink to go skating, and emerged better skaters after a session at Washington Harbour.
A Decade of Santa
It was our 10th trip to visit Santa at the Pentagon City Mall, and we truly enjoyed a relaxed visit – sharing hopes and wishes while catching up over the past year. The boys behaved, so Santa surely kept them on the “nice” list for now!
Thanksgiving 2021
We doubled our size since Thanksgiving 2020, hosting for the first time since 2018. It was a great meal, bookended with other Thanksgiving celebrations at school and with friends!
