While we got in a visit to Santa quite early, we were a little behind on decorating the house. With a little more than two weeks to go until Christmas, we found a tree and got our house feeling quite festive! It was overall an exciting day in anticipation of the holidays, but also because…
Merry Christmas 2018!
A very merry Christmas from our family to all our friends and family, near and far!
A Holiday Weekend!
It’s been four years, but we made it to National Harbor for another overnight stay during the holidays! We took in the lights, got treated to some fireworks, and – for the first time – walked through the ICE show!
Fall Photo Shoot 2018!
At least once a year, we like to capture the family in photos – primarily for the Christmas cards! Here’s how our fall 2018 shoot went down…with Owen largely an unwilling participant, we weren’t sure how it was going to go!
On the Polar Express
It’s been many years, and with one more kid in tow, but we ventured on a ride to the North Pole courtesy of the Great Smoky Mountains Railroad’s Polar Express! It was a new part of the country for all of us, and just a quick weekend trip, but it was a perfect way to…
First Holiday Attraction: Zoolights!
We were back at Zoolights again, thanks to a mild evening on Thanksgiving weekend. We got into the holiday spirit with a bunch of spinning rides, hot chocolate and thousands of our closest “friends”!
It’s Turkey Day!
It was our second time hosting Thanksgiving, and we seem to be hitting our stride. We were so prepared that our kitchen sink decided to clog Wednesday night just to keep things interesting (it was fixed Friday). Nevertheless, everyone enjoyed some quality time and good food around the table. Until next year! And to kick-off…
Getting Santa in Early
We conquered another Santa visit, and like last year, O was not the biggest fan. We had a long wait as the staff didn’t show up until 50 minutes AFTER the booth opened and had technical difficulties. But the boys were a trooper and got to bond a bit more with Santa than in years…
Go Go, Halloween!
While we all had a great time last year, O was an even more willing participant in the fun of Halloween. With two school parades (one of which went better than the other), a block party and 90 minutes of trick-or-sprinting, it was quite a day!
