Live from the Premier League

The family has become a bit more soccer (football) obsessed thanks to O, and what better way to take in the game than in a Premier League stadium – West Ham to be exact. We caught the Europa League Round of 16, where the Irons had a commanding 5-0 win over Germany’s Freiburg. It was…

Back with the Wolf

We headed back to Great Wolf Williamsburg after a deviation to Maryland and ten years following our first visit. It was a lot more MagiQuest and a little less water park, but no less fun than years’ prior!

Bahama Mama (and Dad and Kids)

After a few short weeks at home, we escaped the cold once again and were treated to a lovely weekend in Nassau, Bahamas – with plenty of sun and warmth (a far cry from 50-degree colder weather and snow when we landed). We enjoyed Baha Mar’s water park and pools every day, and ate great….

En Mexico (Otra Vez)

For the second day in a row, we found ourselves in Mexico – this time the port of Costa Maya. We took the hourlong ride to the Mayan ruins of Chacchoben where we explored three different temples across a village only open to the public for about 20 years.

Cozumel 20+ Years Later

The Tuckers’ first trip to Cozumel was quite a different experience, with only half the family around – well before marriage and kids in sight. This time the weather was a bit gloomy and chilly but that didn’t stop the boys from getting in the pool and ocean and everyone enjoying a day at the…

Back for More Cruising!

We didn’t get enough, so we came back for a little more Disney Cruise action over the New Years break. This time we flew out of Texas, making the flight extra important, but luckily it was smooth flying before some not-so-smooth sailing. But the latter half of the trip evened out and we had a…

Rest of Asheville

It was a lovely long weekend in Asheville, hiking, touring Biltmore and otherwise enjoying fall. Here’s a roundup of the rest of the best!

Touring the Big House

Biltmore, the largest privately owned home in the US, lived up to the expectations – taking more than an hour to walk through the areas open to the public (not even counting the gardens and other grounds). The audio tour made it informative, and the boys thoroughly enjoyed the kids’ version.

Fall Foliage Hike

It was our first trip to Asheville, and one of the best hikes according to the interwebs was the Triple Falls in Dupont Forest – made famous by Last of the Mohicans or, more recently, Hunger Games. We came, we conquered the inclines and even enjoyed ourselves (except one of us the last stretch on…
