We’ve fallen in love with cabin life, thanks to the pandemic. And the Cabins at Deer Run continue to deliver on comfort and fun! This time we had grandparent guests as we celebrated a few recent birthdays, and great weather for most of the stay! Here are some highlights…

A Final Midwest Day
Our third day in Chicago showed no rest for the weary with continued amazing eats and fun times with friends. Oh, and we also did a little sightseeing!
A Busy, Beautiful Fall Day
Our second day in Chicago had a bunch of firsts and some more yummy encounters – this time with friends! We ticked off a key activity – deep dish pizza with friends – and took in some Halloween fun!
Back to Chi-Town
After a seven-year hiatus, we made it back to Chicago – a first for one of us! It was a super quick weekend, but we packed in what we could, including plenty of good eats and lots of fun sights!

MV Beach Day
It’s not a trip to Martha’s Vineyard without a visit to the beach. We had an exciting one, with breakfast at the airport, wave riding, a shark sighting and all the sun we could take in. South Beach never disappoints!
Fishing Expedition
In a family first, we ventured out on the Skipper for a fishing expedition in the waters around Martha’s Vineyard. We faced a little rain but that didn’t stop the excitement of reeling in a big one. Everyone had the chance to catch a “keeper”, helping others eat a fish feast that evening!
Up Island
With friends in tow, we saw some of the best parts of Up Island on the Vineyard, including Aquinnah for some views and lighthouse climbing, and Menemsha Hills for a 3-mile hike to the beach and back. Needless to say, we wore the kids out after a couple of days!
Back to The Vineyard
It had been four years, but we finally returned to Martha’s Vineyard to enjoy some tried and tested spots for a summer vacation. And this time, we had friends to share the experience. But first, we had an action-packed 24 hours that included some favorite destinations and a rare trip to the agricultural fair.
