A Trio of Visits – Part 1

Because of COVID, we did not head to Williamsburg for an 8th President’s Day Weekend in a row. But, we did hit up a familiar place – the Cuddly Cub Cabin! It was our third season, and third visit. With the chill and ice outside, we got cozy inside and enjoyed some extra special Valentine’s…

Movie Night!

It took just under 11 months, but we hit a momentous milestone during the pandemic – watching 100 original movies during our new-to-the-pandemic movie night tradition. From Onward in mid-March 2020 to Ice Age 2 as movie #100, we’ve seen pretty much everything Disney has to offer ever and then some from other sources. We…

First Snow of the Season

We enjoyed the first snow of the season as January came to a close – luckily having stocked up on some solid winter gear for our Finland trip 14 months prior, which kept us comfy cozy. After sledding as much as we could, we enjoyed some hot chocolate by the fire. Snow day, done right.

Fresh Air in the Country

While on a quick post-Christmas trip in Luray, we went on a couple walks in the woods on some kid-friendly trails within George Washington National Forest. It was a nice change of pace!

Happy 2021!

We escaped home to ring in the New Year in the outskirts of Luray, VA. Our cabin had great views, and the required hot tub for “relaxing” as a family. Colin marked a momentous occasion – making it to midnight for the first time to ring in a new year.

A Friendly Christmas

Christmas with our “bubble family” was a nice change of pace from just the four of us. We fried up a turkey and had plenty of treats on hand for a crazy, sugar-filled way to end the holiday!

Christmas Just The Four of Us

It was a very lazy day that started at 7am with gifts from Santa and ended with the requisite Zoom gathering of the day. It was very low key, but as an added bonus, we spent the day in our pajamas!

Christmas Eve in 2020

It was a quiet Christmas Eve, just the four of us. But thanks to Zoom, some presents and some excellent take out, we managed to enjoy the day!
