Labor Day Not That Far Away
Though we had just been away at the beach, we figured one last hurrah before school started would be a nice time for just the four of us. We enjoyed being residents of DC for the long weekend, and planned our days around neighborhood walks and food!

Summer Beach Party
While the pool was the place to be on our trip to North Carolina, the beach had its fans as well. The waves made for good splashing and riding around, though destroyed every sandcastle we built. As a bonus, we went one evening to look for crabs on the beach and weren’t disappointed.
Summer Pool Party
The major perk of our vacation home in North Carolina was the private pool – which got daily use. As a bonus, there was a sandbox and a swing set for hours of backyard fun.
Summer Vacay 2020
Despite the pandemic, we managed to have an almost-normal summer vacation. We ventured further than a cabin and headed to the beach in Duck, North Carolina – home of the famous Duck Donuts. Our bubble family joined us for some maximum fun, and we made the most of the pool, beach and the occasional socially…
Lots of Playground Time
When there’s nowhere to go, we look to our neighborhood, where there are several great playgrounds. They’ve been our savior during the latter part of this pandemic, despite the summer heat!
New Skills
We’re trudging along during the summer of COVID, but that doesn’t mean we’re giving up on summer fun. We’ve become painters, bike riders, hopscotch players and more!

While away for a long weekend in Luray, we did something new – ventured out. We chose a hiking spot first thing in the morning to avoid any crowds, and due to some gloomy weather, we had the entire trail loop to ourselves! Here are a few photos…
