Go DC United!

It took a while, but our first pro soccer adventure was an up-and-down 90 minutes, where DC scored twice – but once taken away due to offsides and once the ref didn’t see it (a player blocked the ball but was standing inside the goal) – so the game ended in a draw. With Dippin’…

A New Great Wolf

After more than a decade, we visited a newly opened Great Wolf with great friends! It was hard to stray from our original favorite, but this one had some plusses for sure – including being a fair bit closer to home and having friends to spend time with!

Running the Bases

Not sure why it took so long, but the boys finally ran the bases at Nationals Park! Fresh off a walk-off win from 5 runs down going into the 9th inning on a hot day, everyone was pumped for more baseball action – and that meant running in the steps of baseball greatness!

A Night at the Museum

Some of us had a different adventure this summer by staying late at the Museum of Natural History with a friend. There were exhibits, demonstrations, challenges and more – all well after some of our bedtimes. That made it all the more fun!

A Quiet Father’s Day for Some

Father’s Day had a little more down time this year for some with a relaxing all-you-can-eat brunch and a massage, while 3/4 of the family headed southwest to drop C off at camp for nearly two weeks. It was a beautiful day for a ride in the country at least, and C and his friend…

Return to the White House

After more than six years, we made a return to the White House – and this time we went inside! We got to see several areas of the East Wing, including the China Room, State Dining Room and the famous Red, Blue and Green Rooms. We held it together, until the group picture, so a…

A Foodie Weekend

We took full advantage of the yummy food scene during our Memorial Day Weekend in the Raleigh area. While BBQ was the focus, we sought out some special treats like chocolate, ice cream and steak!

A Birthday Long Weekend

Brian’s birthday then turned into Memorial Day Weekend, which was colder and rainier than anticipated – though it didn’t damper plans or spirits! We got out into nature, braved the heated pool and explored fun new spots in the Raleigh area.

Beautiful Baseball Day

We took a break as little league spectators and leveled up to the MLB with a beautiful day at Nats Park. The Nationals emerged victorious with a win over the Tigers, and we managed to stay through the entire game as both boys were very into it. Hopefully we can catch another game again soon!
