Well, we’re getting that much closer to becoming fully settled in the desert. We spent the weekend with a haul to IKEA and Carrefour to get the major last odds and ends for our place. It’s amazing what your forget you need to start up from nothing.

After the six hours in the mall, it was only fair that we celebrate with Oktoberfest #2 of the month. There’s a potential for yet another fest this weekend…but we’ll have to choose between that and some Halloween shin digs. But, we should be able to fit it all in.

A few more steps remain logistically. First, as a resident, you need an Emirates ID card. It basically involves recording your finger prints…which I did this morning…and hopefully it won’t take months to get the actual card, as it’s your ticket to getting a local driver’s license, which is required for us to get a car. And, Brian has to do it all after his resident’s visa comes through.
