Wanna’ see something really scary?

One of the things I miss most about home is Halloween. Going on haunted forest walks, building an elaborate haunted house with my dad and drinking some punkin ale. Ok that last one isn’t necessarily Halloween, but you get the point. Those who know me, know just how much I love this awesome holiday.

So for the 2nd year in a row, we spent Halloween in the desert. In fairness, you can find basic (albeit censored) costumes, candy and the occasional Halloween party in the UAE, but nothing like home. Rather than going out to a Halloween event in an attempt to get some laughs, we opted for a nice dinner outside at a really nice Chinese place.

I know this isn’t particularly interesting for a blog post, but there was something of note. Since Meg and I ordered way too much food, we decided to take some of the leftovers home. In most places in the UAE, when you take leftovers, they make you sign a waiver that the restaurant is not responsible should you get sick later. Nice.

So when we did finally have the leftovers the next day, we experienced a little fear. Not the kind of fear normally associated with Halloween, but I’ll take it!
