In the heart of downtown is a road called the Corniche, which runs parallel to the water. On the weekends, it’s a popular place for people to hang out at the beach, grab some food or lounge in the grassy park along the street opposite the beach.
We haven’t been to an actual beach yet – still way too hot for my taste (over a 100 degrees during the day despite the locals saying how much its “cooled off”), but this particular beach has two distinct sections: one for women and families and the other for single men. If Megan didn’t accompany me to the beach, I’m not sure which side I would be expected to stay. Sounds like an awkward social experiment for another day….
