As part of our extended bucket list, we hit up Bab al Shams, a desert resort – something we won’t get anywhere near DC. The heat has definitely started to pick up, and we were feeling it. But, luckily, the massive pool provided refuge during the day. At night, we went to a dinner-show deal, which had amazing food but hit-or-miss performers. Still, it showed a little of what the region has to offer in terms of music, dance and culture. So, we wanted to share a few highlights…
Breakfast overlooking the dunes proved to be a bit toasty outside!
We spent most of the day chilling in the pool to escape the desert heat
There were plenty of nooks and crannies to enjoy with the pool
We opted for a cheesy Arabic-themed buffet and show, but the food was top notch
What’s a show without camels?!
Part of the “Arab” marketplace for dinner
The rooftop bar had nice views over the pool and grounds
It’s still odd to see green grass against sandy desert landscape
A cool garden retreat near our room
One of Brian’s artistic shots from the resort
Random resort shot – there were plenty to choose from
Part of our resort photo tour – which lasted about 20 minutes due to heat
