We’ve enjoyed a BBQ destination or three in our days. Memphis? Check. North Carolina? Been there. Texas? Conquered. The final major BBQ town on our list? Kansas City, of course! While our trip centered on sweet, juicy meat, we also explored other key sights, including historic Union Station, the Crown Plaza (Hallmark HQ) and Boulevard Brewery. Here are a few shots from our (mainly BBQ-related) adventures.
Woo-hoo, stop #1!
Colin was all about digging in
Woodyard was a great first entry into KC BBQ
We went more upscale at Jack Stack
They had us at cheesy potato bake
What a nutritious looking meal
No rest for the weary, as LC’s was stop #3
Colin managed to get BBQ sauce in his ears at this stop
We did non-BBQ activities, such as the Crown Center
Their Christmas tree was up on Halloween!
Thankfully, there was some craft beer to wash down the BBQ
The wait at Oklahoma Joe’s was insane
But, in the end, worth it
Our final full day was full of the KC classic spots
Like Arthur Bryant’s
A rest from eating at Union Station, where we visited the planetarium
Our final taste test at Gates
Colin was a trooper, sampling the finest smoked meats around town
