Over the weekend, Megan and I took in some Formula 1 racing at the Yas Marina Circuit in Abu Dhabi. It was our first time watching live F1 racing and we were not disappointed! The action is fast and overall racing facility is impressive. Last year, Abu Dhabi built the track on Yas Island so everything still looks brand new. Add to that hotels, restaurants and Ferrari World – a race car inspired amusement park – and you understand why this 3-day event is the equivalent of the Super Bowl to locals and race enthusiasts alike. Oh, and it happens to be the last race of the year so it can have a huge impact on who wins “Driver of the Year” (in this case it was down to four drivers).
Of course, we were a bit spoiled – Megan scored some awesome VIP seats, which were situated at the end of the longest straightaway in the history of F1 racing. I can’t even begin to explain to you how loud those cars were, particularly along the straightaway, where they reached speeds of about 200mph. Probably the loudest thing I’ve ever heard. Ear plugs were a must!
But definitely a great time! I apologize in advance for so many videos, but I wanted to try to give you a taste of the action from a few different perspectives.

You lucky mfers! Awesomo photos, and even better video coverage. I can’t believe you even had a lounge to hang out in… MAN! It’s great to see you two having fun, and continue with the entertaining blogs.
Who ever took the video coverage has a career path in SpeedTV… hahaha.
Hello Brian & Megan!
You two are on such an amazing adventure! I just got all caught up on your blog and really enjoyed living vicariously! I saw “our room” where Prime and I will be staying when we come to experience the real thing!
Take care you guys, we think about you often! **HUG FROM HOME**
